Indoor League Signups

In the words of the prolific boy band ‘NSYNC, “Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!”

This message is coming late, but herein lie the details of our fast approaching indoor league.

Here’s the brief rundown:


  • The league plays two nights a week, Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm.
  • Each team will have one game a week.
  • League runs from January 2nd – March 8
  • Our games are played at GOALS Baltimore, located at 6159 Edmondson Ave, Catonsville, MD 21228.
  • If you have not already signed a GOALS waiver for this year, you need to do that before you will be permitted on the field.

Basic ultimate rules apply, but here are some special ones for our league
  • Games are played make it drop it. (Score and you go immediately on defense).
  • Subs are on the fly. You must tag someone on the sideline to go into the game.
  • Stall starts at “5” and ends at “10.”
  • Because we love playing Ultimate… duh…
Other details:
  • ***NEW DETAIL*** Teams will have one section of pick up each night, followed by a game. Only the teams that have a game next can play pick up. This is to serve as a warm up for the players who are about to play their league game. As the season goes on, the pick up time will be shortened, and the game will be longer.
  • You can only come on the night that you are assigned to play. Everyone is guaranteed a game each week.
  • In the case of inclement weather, we will make a call on whether or not league will happen. We will make sure the number of games played remains balanced across the league.
  • Teams will have two captains, one female, one male. If you are interested, please let me know at Draft will be before league starts.
  • Safe play is required, if either of the commissioners or any captains feel that you are not playing as such, you will be asked to come off the field.
  • Sliding: In the past we had an advanced technique of choosing sliders involving picking a number between x and y. We’d like to do a better job here. If you are interested in sliding, there will be an option to sign up for that on the registration page. If someone is unavailable to play that week, captains can request a slider who will be called from the list ahead of time. Another email explaining this more fully will be forthcoming.
  • Cost is $65. This covers our rental of the facility, our membership to the Catonsville Rec and Park Council, and the online registration process.
  • All signups will be done through the Catonsville Rec and Parks website.
  • A wait-list has been set up to automatically go into effect for each gender at 80 guys and 50 women. You will be notified if you’re on the wait list.
  • Things to keep in mind before you start:
    • Medical information will be collected as part of registration. These are required fields, so be prepared with:
      • Your emergency contact
      • A doctor contact (If you don’t have a doctor contact, please find a local doctor’s number online).
      • The name of your medical insurance (not your insurance number)
    • You must pay online with either a credit card or a debit card (MasterCard or Visa only). PayPal is no longer an option. Paying later is not an option
Detailed Registration Instructions
To begin the process please visit:

  1. On the Welcome to Participant Registration page, scroll to the bottom and select
    • “Adult” for Sport Type
    • “896 Ultimate Frisbee (League)” for Sport.  (Note:  if you don’t see this option try refreshing your browser.)
  2. Then click on the “Register online” button.
  3. On the next page fill in the required fields and click on the “Verify Information” button. This will look you up in the database and pre-populate the registration form if you are found. If you were found then skip to step 5.
  4. Click on the “Continue to Online Registration” button on the next page.
  5. You should now be on the main Registration page. Fill in all the required fields.
    • Note to returning registrants – Even though you are already in their database they require you to retype your email address and cell phone number for verification purposes.
  6. On this same page you will find an “896 Ultimate Frisbee Information” block. This is where you select what league you want to join. In this case the only league available is the Winter Indoor League. Please fill in all of the applicable info in this block.  This info helps the draft committee in their attempt to form balanced teams.
  7. You can ignore the donations block, but you do need to check the “I do not wish to contribute at this time.” entry to advance.
  8. You must click on all the check boxes in the “Important Policy Information” block. Note that the refund policy is a CRPC requirement.
  9. Once the form is completed click on the “Submit Registration Information” at the bottom of the page.
  10. A pop-up box will appear asking you to confirm your age. Simply click OK.
  11. You are now on the summary page. You can use the “Register Another Participant” button to sign someone else up before paying. Once you are ready to pay, click on the “Click to Pay” button.
  12. You are now on the “Online Payment” page. Select the only payment option allowed and click on the “Proceed to Secure Payment Page” button.
  13. You are now on the main payment page. Provide the name and billing address of the person that owns the card.
  14. Once all fields are filled in click on the “SUBMIT PAYMENT” button.
  15. Once payment is accepted you will be taken to the “Certificate of Registration” page.
  16. You are done at this point. Printing the page is optional. Don’t click on the Volunteer Application check box, simply close the page.

Note that after doing all this, you will still need to fill out and sign the Goals Waiver the first time you come to the gym.
