CMUA is the midst of a strategic planning process for youth ultimate in Central Maryland. In the meantime, we are happy to share information about youth programming in the area. If you would like to add a link to a program you are running, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
McDonogh Ultimate Frisbee Camp
Ages: Boys and Girls 11 to 18
Hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Dates: June 25 to June 29
The McDonogh Ultimate Frisbee Camp, co-sponsored by Central Maryland Ultimate Association (CMUA) and directed by head-coach Tommy Barber, is a youth ultimate camp offering ultimate frisbee skill and strategy instruction open for all ability levels, beginners through advanced. Ultimate frisbee is a fast-paced game where teams work together to move the frisbee down the field by throwing it to score in the end-zone.
Ultimate is a co-ed, no contact sport. It affords the campers an opportunity to make new friends while learning to play. Campers will review, learn, and practice the rules of the game, throwing, catching, and cutting skills, offensive and defensive drills, and play games throughout the week. They will learn to work together on the team, develop their skills, and enjoy playing this high-energy, low-equipment sport! Campers need to bring their own cleats and water bottle each day.
Ultimate Frisbee Camp Director Tommy Barber is the head-coach for the Catonsville High School Ultimate team and has been playing ultimate for 10 years on various teams including the University of Maryland Men’s team, American Hyperbole (Mixed Club), and currently 8-bit Heros (Mixed Club).
