Mission Statement
The mission of CMUA is to promote the growth and development of the sport of ultimate in the Baltimore metropolitan area by offering mixed, open, and women’s recreation leagues and tournaments, and by supporting local teams at the youth, college, and club levels.
The values of our organization are:
- Community: CMUA welcomes all people. Players can feel safe and accepted regardless of age, gender, skill, or experience. Everyone who wants to play should have the opportunity.
- Spirit of the Game and Competition: Sportsmanship and highly competitive play are both encouraged; however, competition shall never be at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to rules, or the basic joy of play.
- Growth: CMUA exists to encourage growth in participation in the sport of ultimate as well as the personal improvement of its players. Novice players will be supported to learn and play, and experienced players will be encouraged to push their boundaries in order to improve.
- Professionalism: CMUA expects all members to act as ambassadors of the game and organization, by representing the mission and values both on and off the field.
CMUA is not an independent non-profit but an adult sports/recreation program of the Catonsville Recreation & Parks Council.
