Coaching Clinic This Saturday 2/25

CMUA is excited to announce that we are hosting a coaching clinic on February 25th from 9am-12pm at the Banneker Community Center. This is open to anyone currently coaching, as well as anyone who is interested in coaching in the future.

We aim to provide an environment to learn how to be an effective coach and gain resources to develop your skills. Please fill out this interest form to attend. If you have already filled out the form, we have received your submission and look forward to seeing you!

CMUA Annual Survey

CMUA wants to hear about your experience in our leagues over the last year! We encourage all participants to fill out our 2022 survey.

Your responses will help us plan future leagues and provide us with important feedback on equity and inclusion. We plan on instituting this survey each year and will summarize the 2022 results at our Open Board Meeting on February 10th.

Open Board Meeting – February 10th

The CMUA Board would like to invite you to virtually attend our next meeting: the annual Open Board Meeting, on February 10th at 6:30pm!

Come join an open discussion with the CMUA Board about how we can continue to improve our leagues, and better serve the CMUA community. It’s also a chance to get to know better those who represent you.

We’ll review feedback from recent player surveys, discuss CMUA’s current development work in youth ultimate in the area, and provide a snapshot of the coming year, among other topics.

Meeting information, including a Zoom link, will be shared closer to the event. We hope to see you there!

Indoor Pickup Registration Open

December Indoor pickup starts up next month at the Soccer Dome – 7330 Montevideo Rd, Jessup, MD 20794, and registration is now open!

Pickup begins on Monday December 5th. We’ll be playing on the first three Monday evenings from 8-10 PM, and on the first three Wednesday evenings from 7-9 PM until we stop for the Holidays.

We will be on the “5v5” field, which is roughly the size of a basketball court and will require a little different style of play from the past few seasons at GOALS Baltimore. Expect to be playing 4v4 mixed gender ultimate.

Pickup will cost $25 for the month.

Thanksgiving Hat Tournament

Our annual Thanksgiving Hat Tournament returns Saturday, November 19 at Lower Banneker from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

It’s free to play, but a donation of two (or more) canned goods is requested. Also, you’re encouraged to bring snacks for the snack table!

What is a Hat Tournament?
A Hat Tournament is a tournament where the teams are formed by the random drawing of names from a hat. You will then play with that team all afternoon in a spirited one day round-robin tournament.

Teams will be formed when a quorum is achieved, so please arrive on time!

Donations of clothing, toys, baby furnishings and any household items will be gratefully accepted. All donations will go to the Catonsville Emergency Assistance, which serves greater Catonsville residents with emergency food, eviction prevention, and utility cut-off intervention.

If you’re planning on attending, please RSVP on the Facebook event so we know how many people to expect.

If you know for sure you’ll be in attendance, we’d appreciate it if you’d register online here.  Registration at the field on Saturday is also fine, but it’ll speed things along if you register in advance.

Don’t forget a light and a dark t-shirt!

Volunteers are always needed! Please email cmuacomm@gmail.com if you can help with set up, fields, or clean up!
