Thanksgiving Hat Tournament

Our annual Thanksgiving Hat Tournament returns Saturday, November 19 at Lower Banneker from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m.

It’s free to play, but a donation of two (or more) canned goods is requested. Also, you’re encouraged to bring snacks for the snack table!

What is a Hat Tournament?
A Hat Tournament is a tournament where the teams are formed by the random drawing of names from a hat. You will then play with that team all afternoon in a spirited one day round-robin tournament.

Teams will be formed when a quorum is achieved, so please arrive on time!

Donations of clothing, toys, baby furnishings and any household items will be gratefully accepted. All donations will go to the Catonsville Emergency Assistance, which serves greater Catonsville residents with emergency food, eviction prevention, and utility cut-off intervention.

If you’re planning on attending, please RSVP on the Facebook event so we know how many people to expect.

If you know for sure you’ll be in attendance, we’d appreciate it if you’d register online here.  Registration at the field on Saturday is also fine, but it’ll speed things along if you register in advance.

Don’t forget a light and a dark t-shirt!

Volunteers are always needed! Please email cmuacomm@gmail.com if you can help with set up, fields, or clean up!

Inclusive Youth Clinic

CMUA is proud to announce that we’re hosting our first ever Inclusive Youth Clinic on Saturday September 17th at Southwest Academy! A free event designed and intended to teach elementary students with and without disabilities how to play the sport of ultimate frisbee. Parents will have to be present for the entirety of the event. There will be modifications and accommodations made to meet children at the level of their needs.

All children will be paired with a “buddy” which is a volunteer from a local college or high school team who are familiar with ultimate frisbee. The children will be working in small groups to learn how to throw and run for the frisbee and other fundamental skills. Children will also be able to watch a competitive frisbee scrimmage before participating in a scrimmage themselves!

Please make sure your child has water and soccer or football cleats if able. Children also can wear sneakers or tennis shoes. The link for registration is down below. Email us if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!
